What does an Information Technology, Human
Resources , Legal Network and Travel web site all have in common?
On April 14th, 2003 if you
are a medical professional or have access to personal medical information and
you are in a company of 50 or more employees, you will need at least one of
these sites, and maybe even all of these sites. This includes most employers,
HR departments, and will impact everyone in your company, from the
CEO/President to the janitor looking after the offices.
After April 14th, 2004, if
you are in the above category, the new HIPAA regulations will apply to you as
well, even if your organization is smaller size than 50 employees, these
regulations will also apply to you.
What is HIPAA, otherwise known as the
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act of 1996 (HIPAA) ?
